👤 This article is for Hub Admins or Development Program Managers/Admins.

This article will explain how to create matches for Development Programs using either the algorithm or manual methods, and guides you through the steps for both approaches.

 Navigate to your Development Program

  1. Login to your 10KC Hub
  2. In the left navigation menu of your Hub, go to Development Programs > Manage Programs
    • Don't see this option? You may not have the proper permissions
  3. Click on the Draft tab (if your program is unpublished) or the Live tab (if your program is published) to locate your program
  4. Select the program

 Create with Algorithm

  1. After you have defined the matching criteria (see more details here), head over to the Smart-matches tab and click on Create matches.
  2. Click Create with algorithm and choose whether you'd like to create matches for all participants, confirmed participants only (recommended) or specific participants.
  3. Once the desired option is selected, 10KC's smart-matching algorithm will take a few seconds or minutes (depending on the number of participants) to automatically create the matches.

 Create Manually

  1. In the Smart-matches tab, select Create matches.
  2. Click on Create manually.
  3. A side drawer will open where you can manually select Participant #1 and Participant #2 for the match.
    • Note: if you have enabled Program-based mentor/mentee matching, Participant #1 will be the mentor and Participant # 2 will be the mentee
  4. Click Save changes to create the match.

 Locking Matches

Once you are satisfied with a batch of matches, you can lock them so their pairings are unaffected by any future changes. This can be done by manually one-by-one or by using the Lock all matches button.

To manually lock a match, click the lock toggle next to the pair. A blue toggle indicates that the match is locked.

Note: manually created matches are created as locked by default.

If the match lock is unable to be toggled, it is because one or more of the participants in your match are unconfirmed in the program or have inactive accounts. Please check the status of the affected participants and re-match with confirmed participants only.

 Confirming Matches

While the matching rules are being set and matches are being created, the Development Program is in Matching mode. You can see the program's status on the top-right corner of the Smart-matches tab.

When you are ready to launch the development program, click the Live button.

 Match Communications

If auto-match and send is enabled (Settings tab of the Matching communication window), the matched participants will automatically receive the smart-matching communications once the program is toggled to live. If auto-match and send is not enabled, use the Send match emails button on the Smart-matches tab to deploy your smart-matching emails.

⭐️ Smart-matches Highlights

After the matches are made Live, smart-matches highlights become available to get more insights on the pairings.

  • You can click on the arrow beside number of pairings to see a break down of pairings by roles and any other profile segments
  • You can click on the Unmatched participants to see a list of participants who are unmatched in the program
