Translating Your 10KC Development Program

👤 To complete the steps in this article you must have Hub Administrator, Development Program Manager, or Development Program Administrator permission levels. 

In this Article we will take you through the steps for translating the content of your development program.

Background

  • Admins create programs in English, and participants view them in their selected language
  • Live Translate uses AI for automatic translations, but admins can edit for accuracy

✅ Translate Program Name and Description

  1. From the left-hand navigation panel, you'll click on Development Programs.
  2. Select Manage Programs.
  3. From the Live programs tab, select the program you would like to review.
  4. Go to the Settings tab of your program.
  5. Click the edit the translations hyperlink following Program Name and Program Description to edit their translations.
  6. Review and/or edit the AI-generated translations and click Save Changes.
  7. Click Cancel to exit the Content translator.

✅ Translate Development Program Invitations

  1. From the left-hand navigation panel, you'll click on Development Programs.
  2. Select Manage Programs.
  3. From the Live programs tab, select the program you would like to review.
  4. Click on the Schedule tab.
  5. Locate the Send Invitation Emails section and click the pencil icon to edit the content.
  6. At the bottom of the email editing window, click the edit the translations hyperlink.
  7. Here, you can edit the AI-generated translations for the email title, subject, and body.
  8. Select the target language from the top right corner to edit all available languages.
  9. Click Save Changes once you're done editing.
  10. Click Cancel to exit the Content translator.
  11. Click Next to confirm send date and time.
  12. Click Save to ensure that your translation is saved.

✅ Translate Matching Emails

  1. From the left-hand navigation panel, you'll click on Development Programs.
  2. Select Manage Programs.
  3. From the Live programs tab, select the program you would like to review.
  4. Click on the Schedule tab
  5. Hover over the Matching Email then click Edit Step (pencil icon)
  6. At the bottom of the email editing window, click the edit the translations hyperlink.
  7. Here, you can edit the AI-generated translations for the email title, subject, and body.
  8. Select the target language from the top right corner to edit all available languages.
  9. Click Save Changes once you're done editing.
  10. Click Cancel to exit the Content translator.
  11. Click Next to confirm send date and time.
  12. Click Save to ensure that your translation is saved.

✅ Translate Session Content

  1. From the left-hand navigation panel, you'll click on Development Programs.
  2. Select Manage Programs.
  3. From the Live programs tab, select the program you would like to review.
  4. Click on the Schedule tab.
  5. Navigate to the session that you would like to update and hover to the right of the session title to have the pencil icon appear then click Edit Step (pencil icon)
  6. At the bottom of the email editing window, click the edit the translations hyperlink.
  7. Here, you can edit the AI-generated translations for the session title, email subject, and body.
  8. Once completed, click Save Changes.
  9. Click Cancel to exit the Content translator.
  10. Click Next to confirm send date and time.
  11. Click Save to ensure that your translation is saved.

Remember: You can follow these steps to edit translations for all program sessions within your development program.

✅ Translate Survey Name

  1. From the left-hand navigation panel, you'll click on Development Programs.
  2. Select Manage Programs.
  3. From the Live programs tab, select the program you would like to review.
  4. Click on the Surveys tab.
  5. Click the three dots next to the survey name and select Edit.
  6. Below the Survey Name and Survey Type click the edit the translations hyperlink.
  7. Edit the translation of the Survey Name, as needed.
  8. Click Save Changes once you're done editing.

✅ Translate Survey Questions

  1. Click Next to update translations for the survey questions.
  2. At the bottom of the email editing window, click the edit the translations hyperlink.
  3. Edit the translations for the survey questions and survey answer choices.
  4. Click Save changes to ensure that your translation is saved.
  5. Click Cancel to exit the Content translator.
  6. Click Save to ensure that your translation is saved.

Important notes when editing translations

  1. You can toggle between the original and translated content at any time in the Content translator
  2. The translations available for editing correspond to the original/ English content.
    • As such, if the original content changes after translations were modified, for even a single space or character change, the system will provide an updated AI translation that overrides any previously modified content.
    • Modify or fix translations as the last step to avoid issues.
    • Always review translations after any change to original content.
  3. Invitations and matchmaking emails may contain 10KC dynamic profile variables (name, role, etc.).
    • Some custom segment variables like @User1-locationsegment-123 may be AI translated.
    • Always ensure that you double check the edit the translations window to ensure the variables remain the same between original content (English) and other languages.
