The 10KC Impact Dashboard provides comprehensive insights into your programs by connecting them to key performance metrics: Engagement, Development, Mobility, and Retention. This powerful tool offers both quantitative and qualitative data to help you understand employee progress and program effectiveness.

Overview
Impact Metrics
By default, the dashboard does not show any metrics. Choose a Pathway and Program(s) to start seeing the data. If you are not using Pathways, no worries, just select the desired Program(s).
Once you select one or more programs, all associated standalone surveys will be automatically included. If participants have submitted feedback for these surveys, their responses will populate the impact metrics.
For programs utilizing 10KC's best practice surveys, four core impact metrics are tracked:
Engagement
The Engagement metric gauges how valued participants feel by their organization and how connected they feel to colleagues.
Examples of survey questions that track Engagement:
- I feel more connected to my colleagues as a result of this program (for everyone).
- This program will help demonstrate my contribution as a mentor at my company (for mentors).
Development
The Development metric is designed to measure participants' perceived progress on skill development, organizational understanding, and ability to succeed in their role.
Examples of survey questions that track Development:
- I was able to practice and/or develop my leadership skills as a result of this program (for everyone).
- I feel more confident in my mentorship abilities as a result of this program (for mentors).
Mobility
The Mobility metric is designed to assess whether participants have identified potential career paths and/or made progress towards their career goals.
Examples of survey questions that track Mobility:
- I received and / or shared valuable career advice (for everyone).
- I gained insight into a role(s) I'm interested in pursuing (for mentees).
Retention
The Retention metric reflects the extent to which participants feel they can have a successful career at this organization.
Examples of survey questions that track Retention:
- I believe this is a company where I can have a successful career (for everyone).
Understanding Impact Metric Calculations
The impact metrics are scores from 0% to 100% and here's how they're calculated:
- Score each answer:
- Survey questions have answers like "Strongly Agree," "Agree," "Neutral," "Disagree," and "Strongly Disagree."
- Each answer has a score:
Strongly Agree
andAgree
= 1Neutral
= 0Disagree
andStrongly Disagree
= -1
- Calculate the total score for each question:
- Multiply each answer's score by the number of people who selected it.
- Sum these results for all answers to a single question.
- Example: for the question "I feel valued...", 10 people chose "Agree" (score 1), 5 chose "Neutral" (score 0), and 2 chose "Disagree" (score -1). The total score for the question is (10 * 1) + (5 * 0) + (2 * -1) = 8.
- Calculate the weighted score for each question:
- Divide each question's total score by the number of questions related to that impact metric. This ensures that metrics with more questions don't automatically have higher scores.
- Example: If the "Engagement" metric has two questions and one question has a total score of 8, its weighted score is 8 / 2 = 4.
- Calculate the initial impact score:
- Sum the weighted scores of all questions within the metric.
- Divide this sum by the total number of people who answered the survey. This results in a score between -1 and 1. 1.
- Example: If the weighted scores for two "Engagement" questions are 4 and 6, and 20 people took the survey, the initial impact score is (4 + 6) / 20 = 0.5.
- Convert to a percentage:
- Take the initial impact score, add 1, and then divide by 2.
- Multiply the result by 100%.
- Example: An initial impact score of 0.5 becomes (0.5 + 1) / 2 = 0.75. Then, 0.75 * 100% = 75%. So the Engagement score is 75%.
Outcomes
Each impact metric has specific questions which are used to calculate the score. These questions are displayed as outcomes below the metrics.
We calculate the outcomes as a percentage of people who responded positively to the questions - in this case percentage of people who answered strongly agree or agree from the total responses we received.
‼️ Note that the impact metrics are not calculated by taking an average of these outcomes but by using a weighted formula shared above so as to ensure that one question is not incorrectly influencing the score.
Benchmarks
Currently, benchmarks are calculated using aggregated data from all 10KC customers running development programs. These benchmarks represent a weighted average of impact metrics. You will see different benchmarks depending on whether your company is classified as an enterprise or a social impact organization
‼️ Note that the benchmarks are not yet available for our academic customers and we will inform you once they are.
Dashboard Sections: Quantitative and Qualitative Data
Further down the page you will find a list of all quantitative questions that are used to calculate the metrics and also qualitative feedback left by the program participants.
Quantitative Questions
You can filter for any of the metrics and also click View to see all responses for a particular question.
You can filter using Program roles and Responses. You can also easily download all responses to a CSV file.
‼️ Note that options in Program role are "Primary role", "Secondary role" and "Both". Since this report can aggregate data across programs we have used generic labels instead of specific ones like "mentors" and "mentees".
Qualitative Feedback
You can click View to see responses for a particular question.
You can easily download all responses to a CSV file.
Program Satisfaction
You will see a bonus metric "Program Satisfaction" which is only accessible in the Quantitative section.
Clicking on View will let you see the results of this question in a NPS format to see who are the Promoters, Passives and Detractors for your programs.
