We've rolled out new feature that allows users to share their usage activity with us. This will be huge for us to provide for tailored support and to enhance the user (admin and member) experience.
📖 Please read the full details in our Help Center: Share Usage Activity with 10KC.
✅ Key Points
Users can now opt-in to share their interaction data like clicks and navigation paths. This will allow us to create "session replays". Here is how they can discover and turn it on under Profile Settings.
Participation is voluntary and data is securely handled. See this section of the help center article to see how we protect privacy and what data is collected.
Here’s an example of a “session replay” that is enabled by this feature. If you want to view a replay, simply create an account on PostHog using your 10KC SSO credentials. Review the section below on PostHog if you’d like a quick walkthrough.
Note: 10KC employees are auto-enrolled in and cannot opt-out.
⚒️ Use-cases
Implementations: We can ask customer admins to enable sharing usage activity before an implementation gets underway. We can then review their actions on platform. This will allow us to offer better support and proactively discover areas of friction or confusino.
Support: When members run into issues, we can ask them to turn on sharing usage activity so we can see what they are experiencing, which should lead to faster resolutions.
Funnel analysis: Personally, I’m most excited about this. We’ll be able to earn from users who do (or don't) adopt features. We’ll be able to watch users as they go through a funnel.
🎥 Using PostHog - how to find a specific user’s session replay
Login to PostHog using your 10KC SSO credentials.
Click on “Session replay” from the left hand menu. You’ll then see a stream of all the session replays.
To find a specific user, click in “Filter”. Then under the “Filter by persons and cohorts” section, click on “Add filter”
Type in “email” as the person property you want to filter for.
Type in the email of the person in the section with the words “Enter value…”.
You will now have a list of all the user sessions for that email address.
