Creating a Development Program (Mentorship & Networking)

πŸ‘€ This Article is for Hub Administrator or Development Program Administrators.

In this article, we will take you through the steps of adding a new Development Program to an existing 10KC community. There are two primary ways to create a new program: by selecting a template or by duplicating a past program.

βœ… Option 1: Select a Template

This option allows you to start your new Development Program using a pre-configured template from the 10KC library or your Hub's custom templates.

  1. Navigate to "Development Programs" from your main dashboard.

  2. Click "Manage Programs."

  3. Click "Create a Program."

  4. Choose the desired template from your Hub library or 10KC library.

  5. Click Use template.

  6. In the popup, complete the following details:

    • Select Program type.

      • Note: This cannot be changed later.

      • When creating a new program, you can select from various options:

        • Single cycle: This program is continuously running in the account; people can join and start when they enroll.

        • Multiple cycles: An option specifically for networking programs, allowing you to set the number of recurring networking rounds.

        • Always on: This program is continuously running in the account; people can join and start when they enroll.

    • Populate "Program Start Date" based on when you would like the program start date to show to members.

      • Note: You can change this later.

      • The "Goes live on" date will initially set the match and program start date to that time and will space the sessions based on that time. Please note that you might still need to update the dates for your program.

Important Considerations for selecting a template:

  • When viewing 10KC templates, any template labeled with "Mentorship" is designed for a mentorship program, while those labeled "Networking" are for a networking program. These program types offer different functionalities and setup options.

βœ… Option 2: Duplicate a Past Program

This option is ideal for re-launching an existing Development Program for a new cohort, allowing you to copy an existing program's configurations.

Steps to Copy a Development Program:

  1. Navigate to your Development Program that you wish to copy.

  2. Click on the "..." to the right of the program name and select Make a copy.

  3. Name your Program and click Make a copy.

  4. The following details will be copied over to your new program: Schedule, Session Curriculum, Smart-match rules, Surveys, and Settings.

  5. Follow the steps on the Setup tab within your new program to finalize its configuration. For more details on how to edit each step, please read the Setting up a Development Program article.

Important Considerations for Duplicated Programs:

  • When copying a Development Program, be sure to update any previous references to program dates that you may have included in the Program Description, Invitation email, and Match email.

  • Participants are not copied over from a previous program; you will need to add new participants for the duplicated program.
