Understanding Office Hour Ratings

👥 Audience: Hub admins

Office hour ratings provide valuable feedback to help us improve our sessions and ensure they're delivering value to participants. Here's how these ratings are calculated:

Feedback Values

After each office hour, participants are asked to provide feedback using the following options:

  • Very valuable: 3 points

  • Somewhat valuable: 2 points

  • Not valuable: 1 point

Calculating the Rating

  • Total Score: We add up the scores from all participants' feedback.

  • Average Score: The total score is divided by the number of participants to get the average score.

  • Percentage Rating: The average score is divided by 3 and multiplied by 100 to express it as a percentage.

Example

Let's say we gathered this feedback after an office hour:

Very valuable

2 participants

Somewhat valuable

1 participant

Not valuable

1 participant

Here's the calculation:

  1. Calculate total score:

    (2 participants * 3 points) + (1 participant * 2 points) + (1 participant * 1 point) = 9 points
  2. Calculate average score:

    9 points / 4 participants = 2.25
  3. Calculate percentage rating:

    2.25 / 3 * 100% = 75%

The office hour session would have a final rating of 75%.
